ACOUSMETRIC DESIGN
A new frontier of sound design has been open by Acousmetry^®.
New sound objects to communicate, to describe, to prepare.
Acousmetric shapes (As) are sound objects, "smart materials", that induce the perception of dots, lines and geometric figures moving in space.
Their listening puts a comparison with extra acoustic notions, where sound become a sign that refer to a sense: not only I listen to the sound object, but I decipher a language.
The question to be set to whom listens to it is not “thing you hear?”, but “thing you see?".
